Former car - no longer own this car18 updates 12 followers 13 mods2012-09-22 12:24:32Unfortunately due to the long daily commute I'm having to choose between the civic and the CRX, as the civic was only ever meant to be an A - B car which has now become too difficult to keep, especially as I don't have the space to carry out the necessary welding to get the MOT, thus it is selling, looks like someone is coming for it next weekend which means I'll become somewhat better aquatinted with the CRX driving it the 70 miles to work and back each day, while this is happening I'll be saving for a slightly more sensible daily so the CRX can finally get the due care and attention it needs!
Thanks to everyone who's followed and shown interest, hopefully the new owners plans come good!
Former car - no longer own this car18 updates 12 followers 13 mods2012-07-10 18:34:38so was driving to work this morning and noticed the engine temps were getting a little higher than usual, pulled over to check it out and was greeted by this:
i already knew a lot of the fins had gone but there hadn't been any problems so i hadn't done anything about it, scarily on sunday i had driven all the way to NE london and back, could've been much worse than it was!
i turned the car round and the guy i lift share with drove instead.
i got home and after thinking it over for a while decided to try sticking the CRX rad in the civic, seeing as the CRX isnt gonna be driven for a while!
the civic looking a bit empty:
the difference between the two:
the rad is a little wider and therefore i couldn't use the standard near side fastener that was in the civic, i 'convinced' the CRX fastener in there and it's holding perfectly.
unfortunately this leaves the CRX with no cooling system, fortunately this gives me an excuse to buy a decent new radiator, potentially half size for the turbo b18 plans, but that's still a long way off... either way there are still a few things happening, although i'm saving for a holiday i've got coming up and moving out, just found out i've got the job at the end of my apprenticeship so should be bringing more money in at the end of the month which will be (mostly) spent on car parts.
the CRX looks a little empty now though:
all this in under an hour, fairly pleased with that!
Thanks for looking, not really a mod, just an update with where the car's at!

can ya guess what it is yet?!
after a hoover and quick shampoo, not pristine condition, but still got loads of life in them...
just got to make up some rails to fit them now, still cant decide whether to put them in the civic or save them for the CRX... although the CRX will probably have some minters instead...

Former car - no longer own this car18 updates 12 followers 13 mods2012-04-16 05:24:05i know that this is all useless without photos but until there is an iphone app im gonna be lazy.
Fitted the freshly balanced wheels yesterday with the blox gold wheel nuts, then went to see the bodywork man, he put a ballpark figure of £3000-£3500 for all of the bodywork and respray, i take that as a sign that i'm gonna need to learn to weld and paint faster...
i WILL have photos soon, and i may even update my 4GUK project, maybe...
Former car - no longer own this car18 updates 12 followers 13 mods2012-04-11 21:45:41not really an update as such but after waiting AGES for my wheel nuts i sent Scott @ h-tune.co.uk an email last night telling them they must be lost in the post, he got straight back to me and is sending out another set, even though i didn't get insured postage! gotta say this bloke is a real gent, if you need any honda parts, get to http://h-tune.co.uk, if you cant find it, let them know, most helpful shop i've ever used!!
